3. Click on an instructor’s profile to learn more about them. Once you find an instructor you’d like to take a lesson from, use the message function to contact them directly and find out how to book a private ski or snowboard lesson with them at their resort.

Every day throughout the season private clients book lessons at ski areas. Often, they won’t know who their instructor will be. By being part of Ski Instructor Finder you will join a growing network of instructors that clients can request, through your resort, for their lesson.
You need to have the correct gear, correct clothing, a lift pass, and you need to know where to meet your instructor. We have some blog posts going into much more detail about your first day of lessons. First time in lessons?
Instructors are certified by instructor associations. Most countries that have ski resorts will have an instructor association. In North America there are the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) and the Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance (CSIA). Other common instructor associations are British, New Zealand and Australia.
Instructor certifications start with Uncertified, then progress up from Level 1. Depending on the country the highest level of instructor is either Level 3 or Level 4. In the US the highest level of instructor is Level 3. Beyond a Level 3 instructor are Trainers and Examiners. These respectively train and examine instructors for their certifications.
